Someone's Going to be a School Boy

It's been a very long time since I have updated the blog on my Bunny boy.  Behind the scenes a million things have happened.  We have a new pediatrician who I LOVE.  I wanted a pediatrician who wouldn't freak out at my crunchy ways and I also wanted someone who would care about my kids and especially Bunny.  I know that sounds idealistic in this day and age but I've found it!!

When I interviewed her she already knew who we were because she is Facebook friends with my mom.  My mom taught her kids.  She then praised me for feeding them healthy, told me I was doing everything right and wanted to make sure I knew that Autism isn't always forever.  I have never been so happy leaving a doctors office!

We also left with a referral to get Bunny tested for Autism.  I still haven't sent in the paperwork but it should happen this month.  I don't think it will change anything but it's good information to know.

I've also made the decision to put my baby in preschool.  This is the preschool I vetoed last year.  There is a new teacher and she has completely changed the classroom.  She seems amazing.  I loved everything she had to say.  There is no longer a "no drop in" policy and she sends home a communication binder everyday.  Music to my ears.

It is really hard for me to think he will be gone from my sight for 3 hours 5 days a week.  I'm going to miss my sunshine.  I'm always nervous dropping my kids off at preschool for the first time but my mostly non-verbal, very attached to his momma son is another level of nervousness.  I know it will be good for both of us.  He will get lots of stimulation and I will get some time to run some energy out of Buddy.

He will also finally be getting some PT again.  We haven't had physically therapy since he was two.  I know it sounds crazy but I felt peace when I left the classroom.  The same peace I felt when I decided not to send him last year.  He starts in two weeks.  In the meantime, I'll be soaking up all his love.

He also mastered a new skill this week.  He now stands on his own for quite some time.  He actually pushes me away because he wants to stand.  I guess he is ready to be a big boy.
